Warhorse – Job 39

$15.00$20.00

When I started this painting was unsure what this painting will be called in the end but it started with Job 39: 21.  Have you ever seen the Movie  “War Horse.”  Even though it was a sad movie as it was about war. Yet the movie was so well produced one felt that the horse, Joey was going to open his muzzle any minute and words will come out.  You knew what the horse was thinking and wondering.  They made the horse very real, the ex-racehorse should get a Oscar for sure.

Even though I was thinking of verse 21 “he paws fiercely, rejoicing in his strength” and wanting to put that somewhere in the painting. “Secretariat” is another movie that comes to mind – in fact they quote this verse

Job 39 – 24
19 “Do you give the horse its strength or clothe its neck with a flowing mane?
20 Do you make it leap like a locust, striking terror with its proud snorting?
21 It paws fiercely, rejoicing in its strength, and charges into the fray.
22 It laughs at fear, afraid of nothing;  it does not shy away from the sword.
23 The quiver rattles against its side,  along with the flashing spear and lance.
24 In frenzied excitement it eats up the ground;  it cannot stand still when the trumpet sounds.
